I, like many people in our industry grew up in a moving family. My father was a driver for Allied Van Lines through my entire childhood and as a result I spent all my free time working for "dad", which I truly enjoyed. After graduation from High School I began working for a local mover in Manteca, California. At the age of 21, I purchased my first truck and my journey as an owner-operator began.
I quickly accelerated within the Allied Van Lines Fleet. In 1988 I earned membership to Allied's prestigious Master Mover Fleet (one of the youngest drivers to ever attain this position). By 1994 I had risen into Allied's Top Ten Fleet (this is literally the Top Ten Drivers in the entire Allied system) and was a Top Ten member for four consecutive years, and in 1996 I was awarded Driver of the Year for Allied Van Lines. I qualified for the top ten through 1999, which is when I retired from driving and my wife and I purchased Modesto Transfer & Storage.
